Magda Linette became only the 2nd player to win the GSB Hua Hin Open in Thailand this week when she defeated Swiss qualifier Leonie Kung in the final 6-3, 6-2. This win marks her 2nd WTA title in just 5 months after winning the inaugural Bronx Open in September.
Despite playing some great tennis throughout the course of the week Magda Linette was unable to overcome the final hurdle as she fell in straight sets to Karolina Muchova. Linette has been enjoying some of the best tennis of her career and this week marked her 2nd WTA final appearance in the last 2 months after having claimed the Bronx title in August. However, on this occasion she was unable to produce the great tennis that has seen her jump to a career high ranking of 45 as she succumbed to Muchova in just over an hour. Next up for us will be a trip to Beijing before finishing the season off in Tianjin.
