Touring Coach

DSCN3240This is targeted at professional players who are competing on the WTA/ATP/ITF tours. Many of the current professional and semi-professional players prefer having a personal coach that they can work and travel with for up to 40+ weeks per year.

Having a touring coach allows the player focused 'one on one' attention for an extended period of time and the main advantages of having a personal touring coach are;

  • Structured and personalized practice sessions
  • Specific developmental plans
  • Match-Play feedback
  • Consistent coaching methodology
  • Periodized training program

As a touring coach Mark will travel with the player to tournaments; nationally or internationally at any level. For more information about Mark please visit the About me section.

Private Lesson

Why do professional players have their own private coaches? The answer to this question is very simple; you. It is all about you, your tennis needs and what you need to improve. During a private lesson you will have the opportunity to specify problem areas that you would like to address, and you will receive a full written evaluation of the areas covered which can be used for future reference.

During a private lesson players can choose to work on a wide variety of areas, including, but not limited to; Technique/Biomechanics, Movement/Footwork, Strategy, Mental Game, Pattern play.

Each individual player should have a unique identity and below are 4 basic game styles that every player must be able to categorize themselves in, so that they can specifically target the necessary areas to focus on;

1. Serve and Volleyer (requires power and agility)

2. All-Court player (requires power and aerobic/anaerobic endurance)

3. Aggressive baseliner (requires strength and agility)

4. Counter-Puncher (requires speed, agility, aerobic/anaerobic endurance)

Modern day tennis players are phenomenal athletes that are able to combine power, strength, speed and agility in a way that allow each individual to fulfill their potential. As the old saying goes 'when hell becomes your home everything else becomes easy'.  Remember all lessons can be video-recorded for future reference. Corporate Day

A corporate day is designed for companies that would like to reward their employees with some fun, team-building exercises on the tennis court. During a corporate day, clients will be shown the fundamentals of tennis and put through a series of vigorous drills that will test co-ordination, discipline, cardio-vascular abilities, strength and power tests and tennis IQ. Using this setup is an ideal way for beginners/intermediate/advanced players to rapidly improve their tennis ability in a short period of time, whilst having fun.

The advantages to participating in organized functions such as this one are endless but most companies will notice in a dramatic improvement at work because of;

  • Improved morale
  • Team work
  • Improved energy levels
  • Enhanced problem solving skills
  • Improved organizational skills

Many professional sporting and business organizations use this method to enhance company production and efficiency by helping employees understand their importance and make each individual feel they are being recognized for their efforts.

Tennis Evaluation

DSCN2569During a tennis evaluation the player will be tested in all areas of the game, including, but not limited to; Technical, Strategical, Movement, Mental and Pattern play. A tennis player must understand and be comfortable in all 5 of the basic game situations;

1. Serving

2. Returning

3. Both players on the baseline

4. You at the net

5. Your opponent at the net

After a tennis evaluation the player will be given a full written review of the material covered, and will be provided with an in-depth analysis. This analysis will offer suitable drills that can be performed alone or with a practice partner that will allow you to address the areas covered during the evaluation. This is an ideal package for somebody who is in the area for only a short time period and wishes to elevate their game, or who has reached a plateau in their game and is looking for a new perspective.

All lessons can be video-recorded for future reference. For more information about Mark please visit the About me section.

Group Clinic

This is the perfect solution for people looking to learn tennis and have fun at the same time. Group Clinics are designed primarily for club players and teams that are looking for some new tools to enhance their level of play, both in singles and doubles. During a clinic the players will have any technical problems assessed and will learn some new strategical plays (singles and doubles) that can be immediately taken, and used, on the match court.

Research has proven that at all levels learning in a group has many advantages over private instruction, such as;

  • Observation and imitation of peers
  • Inter-peer feedback
  • Increased motivational levels
  • Encourages self-reliance

As a club player it is important to understand simple aspects of the game such as dimensions of a tennis court, match rules and how to handle adversity. During a group clinic players will have the opportunity to test their maximum heart rate and calculate their target heart rate so that they have a good indicator of how intensely they practiced. Players will be exposed to some necessary warm-up and cool down procedures, basic periodization, nutrition, and injury prevention techniques. All lessons can be video-recorded for future reference.
